"GOOD DIALOGUE"

"DIANETICS -- HOW CAN THIS BOOK STILL BE A BESTSELLER?"

"SCIENTOLOGY GROWS IN POPULARITY AND RESPECT"

"GOOD DIALOGUE"

A publication from the Commonwealth of Independent States, Znamia, published an article on Dianetics:

"Albert Einstein once made an amazing affirmation: `We use only 10 percent of our mental abilites.’ The great scientist was right. But he didn’t open the mystery of other 90 percent. This mystery shook the world in the beginning of the 50th year of our century, when the book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health came into the world."

"In a Dianetics Centre ... you’ll study to take the dark veil off your consciousness ... A child will be taught to study without bad marks in school, an adult taught to study a profession without failures, communicate for pleasure, understanding of others and his or her own success. After passing courses, intellect grows high ... Intellect and spirituality are different, but the seeds of spirituality, taken to the heart of every man, will grow in the soil of the clear mind."

"DIANETICS -- HOW CAN THIS BOOK STILL BE A BESTSELLER?"

On January 27, 1995, the Press Tribune, a daily newspaper in California, published an article on the outstanding popularity of the book Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health over the past 45 years.

"`Even for a self-improvement book to last four to five years is rare,’ says Sally Leventhal, an editor with the Berkeley Publishing Group.

"...[T]he concepts that Dianetics first popularized have slowly become accepted and commonplace. Dianetics said the unborn baby is capable of hearing and reacting to noises and voices outside the womb, that intelligence could be raised when the belief was it was inherited and unchanging, that one continues to mentally record perceptions during operations, even when these were conducted under general anesthesia. More than 25 years later, scientists found these things true."

"SCIENTOLOGY GROWS IN POPULARITY AND RESPECT"

On January 5, 1995, the Carolininian, a North Carolina daily news paper reported on the growth of the Church of Scientology in communities around the nation over the past 40 years.

"Over the years, church volunteers and staffers have worked forming alliances with local churches, community-based organizations and law enforcement professionals in establishing and operating programs designed to keep kids involved in positive activities, off drugs and out of trouble."

"Recently, on National Project America Day, celebrated by a coalition of organizations across the United States, Scientology Church staffers and volunteers in 21 cities rolled up their sleeves for a variety of community betterment projects."
