n the introduction to In Hitlers Shadow, an inside account by Yaron Svoray and Nick Taylor of the neo-Nazi movement in Germany, Simon Wiesenthal wrote: History records that the people of Germany did not liberate themselves from National Socialism. It was destroyed from outside by the Allies. Todays younger generation has the responsibility of making up for what their grandfathers and fathers failed to do: recognize and fight National Socialism as an ideology based on contempt for mankind.
For in the final analysis, the future will be determined not by how many Nazis there will beor fascists or extreme nationalists or white supremacistsbut how many anti-Nazis, people of goodwill, there will be to confront them.
The United Nations proclaimed 1995 the Year of International Tolerance. Write to those named below, urging them to take strong and effective action to end hatred and discrimination against religious and ethnic minorities in Germany.
